'Tight Jeans', 'The arrival' and 'Over'
TIGHT JEANS
before watching:
- comedy→ not a serious title and displays a sense of silliness

after watching:
- subtle commentary that has actual meaning disguised behind comedy and incorrect information
 - fits the comedy genre but subverts expectations with the darker topics brought up in the short film

THE ARRIVAL
before watching:
- sci-fi→ could be about aliens arriving on earth→ could also be about arriving in a new place and settling in to all the new experiences

after watching:
- voice over used makes the film end up with a specific aesthetic style, along with the one take.
 - The action is dictated by the dialogue
 - the mise en scene acts to amplify the emotion felt and helps us understand the woman's train of thought
 - when she thinks about how much time she has left there is an old woman next to a clock in the background
 - when she thinks about the relationship she has there is a couple holing hands walking past
 - when she pours the milk into her coffee and disassociates there is a woman who walks in with a baby
 - the

OVER
before watching:
- could begin at the end and then tell us a story through flashbacks→ could be about a relationship

- Much like 'The Arrival' in that it makes the viewer work to understand the content
 - told from the end to the beginning to show us the steps of what happened in a way where we can try to work things out
 - deep focus and democratic shots allowing the viewer to focus on any part of the scene at every time frame
 - we can tell from the start that it will be a relatively sad or melancholy film as there are the flowers on the side of the road
 - grey colour grading over the whole film
